Successes & Failures (and SYTYCD behind the cut!)

I seem to be getting both in equal measure, but that still means I’m having success. This week I signed myself up for a photography workshop led by Me Ra Koh. I knew as soon as I saw the announcement on her web site that she was coming to DC, that I was going to […]

Chemistry Problem

Question 25 bested me with semantics: “List all the possible [emphasis mine] subshells of the 5th shell of an atom” with the options I couldn’t decide between being: a) 5s 5p 5d 5f b) 5s 5p 5d 5f 5g So, does possible mean “hypothetical” in this context, or “actually possible”? And Jack pointed out that […]

Back to School – New & Improved

After what seemed like a very relaxing eternity, Chem 103 got into gear this week. Finally. I would never have thought this but I am really eager to get this show back on the road. I think… I am clinging to school a little as it makes me feel more like I have purpose. First […]

Acting like an adult reaps its damn benefits. That’s 3 prereqs down, and 2 to go. If I so choose, I’ll be applied and accepted or waitlisted (since I’m out of county) at HCC Nursing school by this time next year.

And lo there was a rejoicing!! Our rude professor is now merely a figment of our memories! And, supposedly, I have learned the things I need to know about the various systems of the body. School report: It’s all over but the very quiet sweating and scan-tron bubble filling in. We had our last lab and lecture. We got to (heh) fill out our course evaluations. That took everyone quite a while. I am trying to let go and be relaxed about the end product. I do want an A […]

So. I made it to the Howard County Community College advising hours, and after looking at my unofficial transcripts, they OKed me for either or both of the remaining classes I need. After some thought I decided to take Chemistry first, in the regular-size semester, because it will be harder. I know this because I’ve […]

I got my letter from Howard CC that I’m enrolled. They make it super easy to figure out how to log in and register immediately. But now I’m faced with a choice, Chemistry in the spring or Microbiology? Whatever I don’t take in the spring I have to take in the summer, so I’m a […]

Back to the school rant…

I am not at my wit’s end with the administration of this class, but I can see it from here. I thought last night that we’d get into a normal routine and he’d teach and we’d learn the end. I forgot, however, that we were getting our exams back. So naturally all hell broke loose. […]

The cramming.

I’ve been alternating between studying and being a total lump all day. 1 hour studying, 1 hour being a total lump. See how the unstructured time is doing me no favors? In part it’s that I’m not feeling very organized; I need a sequential approach. I have 2 large units of information to review some […]
