Nothing’s Ever Easy

Filed under work by at 8:24 am on May 07 2009

I ran into my boss’ boss in line at lunch yesterday. We had the following exchange:

Grandboss: Nothing’s ever easy.

Me: Some things are easy!

GB: Name something.

Me: Um… scrambling an egg.

GB: Hrm…

Me: Wait, I forgot to think about how the egg got to me in the first place. Never mind.

GB: No, wait, that’s a good example!

Me: *mumbling something about factory farming and supply lines*

GB: Stop, you were helping!

    Hee! “You were helping!”

If that guy near me with the roosters also had nesting hens (a safe bet?), maybe I could get some eggs the simple way: petty theft! Then the scrambling part would also be a snap.
